Long Live Longnecks! The Original work of Texas legend Jim Franklin. Texas surrealism featuring bluebonnets, oil rigs and everyone's favorite little Texas critter; the armadillo. Jim is the Texas legend who turned the humble armadillo into an icon of Austin’s music and art scene. In the late ’60s and ’70s, his surreal, detailed posters and album covers set the tone for places like the Armadillo World Headquarters. With his mix of detail, humor, and Texas grit, Franklin’s work feels like a snapshot of the Lone Star State's wild, creative soul.
